Corrections to 1.52.0, all of them from two readers asking good questions the day it shipped.
- Citation links now open. Exporting to Markdown writes a reader citation as a link back into your wiki — and clicking one from another editor did nothing at all, because the address it used was never registered with your Mac. It is now, so a citation opens the source at the right page and the right highlight, not merely the page. A citation pointing at a page the open wiki doesn’t have says so rather than failing silently.
- Page links can survive a Markdown export. They came out as plain text, because MojoPad makes most of them for you — it recognises a page name as you type and links it, and redoes that every time it draws the page, so there was nothing fixed to write down. For anyone moving notes to another wiki-shaped editor that was the one thing worth keeping. A new switch under Settings ▸ Links & Pages writes them as
[[Page Name]]instead. It is off unless you turn it on, so nothing you already export changes shape. A link whose wording you edited comes out as[[Page Name|the words you used]], so it resolves at the other end and still reads the way you wrote it. - The two AI settings say what they are. The row that chooses the model for writing was labelled only Model, which is exactly what you would click when wondering which model MojoPad uses — while the setting for finding pages by meaning sits below it under Search by meaning. The first row is now called Writing & answers. With your local AI stopped it also used to say all AI features were off, which stopped being true in 1.52.0: searching by meaning works with nothing installed at all. It now says which half is affected.
- The handbook explains both models properly. The Local AI chapter opened by saying everything ran through the AI program you install yourself, and every feature that mentioned models inherited that. It now begins with the two settings side by side — what each does, where each comes from, what happens without it — and lists every feature under needs a writing model, needs a meaning model, needs both, and needs neither. Several passages elsewhere still told you to install something for searching by meaning; they no longer do.
- What Automatic actually picks, written down. If you already keep your own models, Automatic uses yours — MojoPad’s own is the fallback for a Mac with none, and is never chosen for you, so updating never quietly rebuilds an index you were happy with. Also now documented: choosing a model by name is worth doing if you stop and start your local AI, since on Automatic that changes which model is in hand and rebuilds the index each time. And MojoPad’s own model reads English, which nothing anywhere said.
